Employee Relations
THE 4 C'S OF EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
Today's workplace is as diverse as it gets. In any given company, managers can expect to work with people from all races, genders, cultures, and age groups. It is for this reason that organizations need to proactively address the 4 C's of Employee Relations.
Culture — During lockdowns, employees discovered fulfillment is bigger than engagement or job satisfaction. As a result, this has contributed to the Great Resignation. Employees are now looking for that work-life balance as flexibility matters. A positive work culture doesn't just happen - it is made and starts at the top. Deluxe Employment Services can show you how ranging from the work environment, policies, leadership, goals, values, and mission of your organization.
Communication — Good communication in today's diverse workplace needs to be clear and consistent as it impacts morale as well as job satisfaction. Therefore, being cognizant of body language, oral communication along with written communication such as email, intranet or IM is extremely important to the culture of the organization.
Compensation — Are your organization's compensation structure FLSA compliant? Are non-exempt employees only working on the clock? Are your employees paid fairly and competitively? When compensation is managed carefully, it aligns people's behavior with the organization's strategy.
Complaints — All HR complaints need to be handled with consistency and respect, regardless of how serious (or not serious) you might consider it. Poorly handled complaints can put your organization at risk with turnover, low morale and worse - a complaint filed with the EEOC.
